You wish to work abroad

NATIONAL INFORMATION CENTERS

You completed your higher education studies in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and you wish to work abroad. In order to find information on the recognition procedures existing in the country in which you want to live, please consult the website of the network ENIC-NARIC).

The Service in charge of academic and professional recognition of foreign higher education degrees of the Ministry of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation is only competent for the recognition of foreign degrees. Therefore our service cannot provide information for the recognition abroad of degrees acquired in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

If the competent foreign authority necessitates authentication of your higher education degree, please consult the following link: legalisation

REGULATED PROFESSIONS

If the profession you wish to exercise abroad is regulated, you can consult the database of regulated professions on the portal of the European Commission on the directive 2005/36/CE. The search engine allows you to check which professions are regulated in the host country and which are the competent authorities.

That directive is one of the mechanisms supported by the European Union to facilitate the professional recognition of qualifications obtained in a Member state by another Member state. However we strongly recommend you to contact the assistance centres.  They will advise and assist you in the recognition process of your professional qualifications (national legislation, procedures to follow, and competent authorities to contact).

OTHER USEFUL CONTACTS

With the aim of ensuring the free movement of its citizens, the European Union has initiated numerous other informative portals on the subject. More particularly we can point out :

Your Europe/L’Europe est à vous : help and advice for EU nationals and their family for work, education, health issues…

EU-GO : The Points of Single Contact (PSCs) are online e-government portals that allow to find out about the rules, regulations and formalities that apply to service activities; and to complete the administrative procedures online (by submitting the necessary application forms and supporting documents etc. electronically).
